In 1998 a group of eco-conscious people, nature lovers and environmentalists based at Periyar Tiger Reserve, Thekkady,Kerala, India., started Touromark, a tourism development agency.
The agency stands for the promotion of eco tourism, conservation of Periyar Tiger Reserve and supporting the indigenous tribal people.
Majority of the activities of Touromark Jungle Tours are linked with India Eco-Development Project at Periyar Tiger Reserve

TOUROMARK has been in the realm of eco-friendly green tourism for over a decade catering to both domestic and foreign travelers with utmost sincerity, high professionalism and upholding our due concern for all ethics inherent in the trade.
Our organization is not for mere business but for service and conservation of nature and ultimately it is surely for dedicated eco-tourism in Kerala.
A portion of our revenue is used for local community development especially to the tribes of Periyar Tiger Reserve. |
The managing partners of the Touromark are better known for their involvement in environmental conservation for the last two decades.
One of the partners, Sri. M.S.Thankappan was with the forest and wild life department, Kerala State until 2002. He has long run experience in nature and wild life conservation, particularly in Periyar Tiger Reserve. He is now actively engaged in nature conservation besides participating in similar programs conducted by environmental groups and NGOs( non-Government organisations).
Other two partners namely Sri Balakrishnan and Sri K.Murali are also environmentalist who actively engaged in similar nature conservation programmers during the past ten years.

TOUROMARK AND PERIYAR TIGER RESERVE
In Periyar Tiger Reserve, Kerala Forest Department is exploring new avenues to ensure the survival of forests, wildlife and local communities. Here, we preach and practice some genuine ecotourism programmes, driven by forest dependent fringe area villagers. Most of the operators are not conservation conscious; for them tourism is synonymous with profit and conservation takes a back seat. TOUROMARK stands as a beacon of hope amidst this reality. They are actively promoting our community based ecotourism products and share their marginal benefits for conservation of Periyar Tiger Reserve and community welfare.

TOUROMARK JUNGLE TOURS is well known in the field of Eco-Tourism of the Hill Ranges of Kerala. In a short span of time it has established well in this field by organizing trekking and camping inside the Protected Areas and also in the villages of the peripheries. All the clients have commended well on their services. TOUROMARK has set an exemplary example in the field of Eco-Tourism. A special feature of the organization is the stress it gives on the Conservation of Biodiversity and Sustainable Development of the Area.
